How to Reissue new PAN Card with the Old PAN Card Number in Six Easy Steps

A PAN card is an important document for accomplishing various tasks. From making cash deposits of fifty thousand or more to your bank account to filing for income tax returns, a PAN card becomes essential.

Have you lost your PAN card recently? Do you want to get it reissued with the old number itself? Following is a six step easy guide to apply for a reissue of a new pan application form with the old number.

Step 1: Procure the old card number

You can easily procure the old PAN card number from old income tax filing documents, your bank account or from your credit card. If you have saved the letter that came with the PAN card, the task becomes ten times easier.

Step 2: Keep the required documents ready

Reissuing your PAN card is just like applying for a new one. The documents you need for applying for the reissue include an address proof, passport size photograph (2 photographs with white background) and birth certificate. However, these days, if you have an aadhar card, you would not need any other document.

Step 3: Keep the amount ready

The charges for applying for PAN card has increased from 60 INR to 107 INR. This piece of information is important. The payment can be made via demand draft, net banking, credit cards or debit cards.

Step 4: Fill in the form

Download the form from either of the links ( or ( depending upon your previous means of application (NSDL or UTIITSL) and fill it in.

Step 5: Use the same name, date of birth and your father’s name

While filling your form, make sure that your name, date of birth and your father’s name remains the same.

Step 6: Send the hard copy of the form to the address

The hard copy of the form must be sent to the Income Tax PAN Services Unit in Pune and must be reached within 15 days of submission of check from here online form. The address will be listed to you once you receive the acknowledgement number after submission of form.
